What Causes Neck Pain While Taking Thyrox For Thyroid?

hi, I have thyroid problem n dr prescribed to have Thyrox 50 mg daily in empty stomache. In last one month I have observerd I m gettig pain in my neck when I try to shallow something. Is this coz of taking Thyrox madecine? I Any side effect ot Thyrox? Thank in adv

I have gone through your query and being your doctor I completely understand your health concerns...
What is your age??! Any swelling in neck which moves with swallowing?? Any difficulty in swallowing? Any palpitations?? Tremors?? Any changes in weight or voice???
In my opinion thyroxine don't cause neck pain. Have you done you thyroid scan....?? It is very difficult diagnose ..you need to be examined properly...
Is pain severe? Is it come acutely???sometime in goitre nodule get rupture and gives intense pain...
You need to be assessed properly.. .meanwhile take rest and take acetaminophen to relieve symptoms.
