What Causes Neck Stiffness And Right Shoulder Pain While Having Computer Vision Syndrome?
Hi..I am a software engineer so have to sit with laptop for long time. Recently I got my eyes tested and was told that I have Computer vision syndrome and my eye muscles are week and was advised to take some eye exercises along with eye drops. From the last 3 weeks I and have: -- Stiff neck with mild pain in my right shoulder. (pain is not such that hinders my day today work, able to move my arm freely) -- heaviness in head just above the part where skull begins. -- heaviness and feeling like some nerve is compressing when lying flat on the bed. -- mild pain on top of head and temples(portion above ears) especially when I work on laptop -- this is not regular pain. Also recently I had all my blood tests and all were normal.Kindly suggest your opinion for the same.
As you are a computer desk worker it will be possible to have a computer eye syndrome. The muscles of the eye become spasm due to starring at the screen in at a particular angle. This may lead to the reduced blood supply to the other muscles and may cause vision issues. Doing hot water fermentation and eye exercises are the best thing to do. Having an ergonomic desk for the work platform will be good. Sufficient distance from the eye the screen has to be placed like 45 CMS. Posture has to be corrected. Using UV protection for the computer screen is also good. Sufficient light in the room is advised.
The pain in the neck and shoulder is due to bad posture which is adopted while working on a computer. Since during working on a computer the stooped posture of the head is adapted and the strain is applied over the muscles which in turn applies it over the cervical spine and also the blood vessels. Correction of the posture is advised. Also, simple neck and shoulder exercises will be helpful.
