Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Neck Stiffness, Headache, Fatigue And Rushing Sound In Ears?
I have neck stiffness, headache, fatigue and a off and on whooshing in my ears. I was in a meeting the other day got the whooshing, a feeling like release in my neck and nearly fell over waking for my vision to refocus. Since then stiffness and headache have not gone away and it feels as if it is in my lower back also. No ear or sinus infection no cold. What could this be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The symptoms of neck stiffness, headache, fatigue and whooshing sound in ears suggest a neurological problem. Whooshing sound in the ears can be due to infection, inflammation or any other disorder of inner ear. Neck stiffness can be due to inflammation of the meninges. Headache and fatigue may be non-specific symptoms associated with other symptoms. I suggest you to consult a neurologist for clinical assessment, investigations like CT scan and/ or MRI of brain and spinal cord. Associated symptoms in lower back suggests involvement of peripheral nervous system along with central nervous system.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
