Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Neuropathy In Feet Along With Tightness Around Ankles?
Diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2012. Treated with chemo and external/internal radiation. In remission. Began having back problems in 2013. Diagnosed as fractured pelvic ring due to radiation...very painful & debilitating. Also tested positive for lyme disease. I m 73 and of course will never be the same, but what I m dealing with now is why I think is neuropathy in my feet. No doctor seems to want to confirm that. I do not have pain but I do have tightness around my ankles as if they ve been wrapped tightly. I feel like I m walking on bubble wrap. It s getting worse. Could walk ok with cane. Now have to use walker because it s affecting my balance. Have to resolve this esp. since my husband was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma and needs me to care for him. Would appreciate any help. Thank you.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that nerve damage is permanent and can’t be reversed but you take few meds which help you in relieving your symptoms. You can take Gabapin or neurobian forte for 10-15 days.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
