Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is experiencing severe night sweats while being extremely cold on the inside and shivering. He has been tested for TB and is scheduled for gastric tests in Nov but he has decided to stop using his lidocaine patches and cream, thinking that could be the cause, since he has been using the cream on his back for a couple years and the patches for about 8 months, at night, when needed. He has Degenerative Disc disease and is bone-on-bone in the lower back. He is under the care of a spine specialist and just had a nerve ablasion but the night sweats are making him crazy - 7 shirts a night - so he is stopping lidocaine.
Hello. Seems to me that his night sweats and chills could be due to the symptoms of his recent TB infection. Once he is on treatment the symptoms will gradually improve. I dont think the symptoms are associated with his degenerative disc disease. Hope this helps.
