What Causes Night Sweats While Suffering From A Lump In The Kidney?

My fiance was just diagnosed with a protrusion on his kidney after 1 year of excruciating pain. He has had severe night sweats so as an ICU nurse I am very concerned for renal cancer. The doc wants an ultrasound. Can cancer be diagnosed off of that? I thought biopsy was necessary. He s only 35. Thank you very much.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are absolutely right...

For confirmation of diagnosis of renal cancer and for subclassification of it biopsy is necessary and it should be sent for histopathology examination

But USG will give you idea whether any mass present or not.. If mass or growth present than biopsy done otherwise not

Take care

Hope your concern solved

USG guided biopsy will be more precise if mass present
