What Causes Night Sweats While Suffering From Irregular Periods?

I am 49 years old. I have been experiencing night sweats and somewhat irregular periods for a few months now. there is a slight chance I may be pregnant, but I took a pregnancy test on March 4th and it showed negative. I still have not had my period. If I waas pregnant, wouldn t my night sweats stop? I am still having those and I am not sick in the mornings.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your clinical history as well as your age is concerned your problem may be due to menopause so you may visit your gyn doctor. He may advise you to do few tests like FSH, and estrogen because FSH levels increase and estradiol levels decrease as menopause occurs. Also, check your TSH level. "If" confirmed tell your doctor to prescribe low dose ESTROGEN to relieve from night sweats.

Hope you got your answer.
