I have a 1.9 CM nodule as well as smaller nodules on my left thyroid and I have several nodules on my right side of my thyroid 2 that are large but not as large as the left. I am having neck pain, fatigue and hoarseness. I had a biopsy done and it showed negative, but I feel the nodules growing on my right side. What causes them to grow? I am under a lot of stress.
Hello, Lot of factors like genetic factors and environmental factors, hormonal factors make thyroid nodules to develop and grow. You should check your TSH. Raised TSH also make nodules grow. Iodine deficiency is another cause. If you have hoarseness and neck pain etc, it is better to see an endocrinologist and he will guide you further. You will also require a follow up ultrasound after 6-12 months to monitor growth of nodules Regards Binu
