Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suffer from epilepsy. The medications I take keep the epileptic seizures under control but the non epileptic seizures still happen. I fall on occasion but I m not sure how to look at them. I sometimes feel like maybe I m doing it. Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Non-epileptic seizures are also called absence seizures. Absence seizures are characterized by loss of consciousness without get the classical fits. You need to report these seizures to your treating neurologist for management.
Treatment for absence seizures also need to be added in addition to your other epileptic treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
