What Causes Nose Bleed That Enters The Ears?

I have been having nose bleeds and some got pretty bad. I went to the ent Tues. and he found a vessel that he cauterized. the problem is that during the bleed outs the blood get into my ears and its behind my eardrum. I am taking antibotics and steroids to try and correct this. is there anything else I can do to work on getting the blood out, it s effecting my hearing.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you child have nose bleed that enters the ears . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma , allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. , hypertension , sinusitis and use of blood thinning medications .

Nose bleeding in case of head injury sometimes become a emergency condition if there are symptoms like dizziness , vomiting and neck pain you should go to emergency .

The symptoms can also occur due to post nasal drip. You should avoid touching or picking nose with any sharp object. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI , examination of ear with otoscope and do physical examination .

Doctor may refer you to neurologist if there is problem to be related with brain injury or problem related to nose . For now put pressure on your nose and apply ice packs .
