What Causes Nose Bleeding And Blisters In The Cheeks?
I have had 2 heart attacks in 2013. 6 stents were placed, two where the left artery feeds the back of the heart and 4 convective stent in left artery. I have been recently diagnosed with SCAD. and had 2 more stents placed in August of this year. I have been on effient ever since my 1st heart attack. I have always taken the name brand, and recently my insurance will only allow Prasugrel. For the past 2 months I have had nose bleeds from left nostril that last 20 minutes to a hour. And tonight I felt something in the back of my throat, so I looked and a have several blood blister above that skin that hangs down and on the side of my cheeks and little tipicia (not spelled correctly) on the roof of my mouth. Is this a concerning matter that I need to go to hospital right away or can it wait til I talk to my heart doctor?
Hello, the pill that you're taking -Prasugrel, prevents platelets (type of cells in blood) to form blood clots, thereby preventing more blockages from forming in your arteries.
While this is the desired action, in case of bleeding, when we need clotting of blood, it doesn't happen because of the effect of the pill. That's why you've had bleeding lasting for half an hour or more.
I would advice you to go to the hospital immediately.
