What Causes Nose Bleeding In A Child?

My son is 13 and has been experiencing nose bleeds all day. 3 times he said his nose was stuffy and each time a large blood clot came out. Once the clot was out the bleeding stopped and his nose was no longer stuffy. Not sure if I should be concerned or if that s normal.
