What Causes Nose Bleeds On Smelling Metal Or Something Metallic?

Every so often I smell metal or something metallic. Sometimes I have nose bleeds, but most often not. I don t feel headaches or any other symptoms. The smell seems to stay with me for a few minutes and everything for a few hours has that tint. It then finally goes away.

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to nosebleeds. The most common causes of nosebleeds are drying of the nasal membranes and nose picking which can be prevented with proper lubrication of the nasal passages and not picking the nose. I also suggest using a humidifier at home to prevent dry air.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
