I have her Zyrtec for a month just in case it was allergies. A few days ago she presented with some hair loss. I have a drs appt scheduled a week away I just wanted some ideas of what could be going on with her.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Chronic nose bleeds is responsible for anemia or low hemoglobin levels. Anemia is responsible for pale colour of the skin and hair loss. Anemia may result in easy breakage of hair. Dark circles around eyes develop in undernourished, sleep deprived people. You need to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment of the nasal mucosa and for management of frequent nose bleeds. Frequent nose bleeds occur due to trauma to nasal mucosa or due to disorders of coagulation pathway. Complete hemogram with peripheral blood examination is required to determine the level of anemia and status of red blood cells. These investigations will determine the degree of anemia and its most probable cause. Appropriate treatment can be given once type of anemia is determined.
