Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nosebleed In Iron Deficient Anemic Patient?
I had two bloody noses today.. I get them every once in a while. I am iron deficient anemic and take a lot of iron to suppliment. But today after the last nose bleed I smell something odd. I think it s copper or something. Could it just be dried blood?
The smell is related to the blood in your nasal cavity. Anyway, you should know that nose bleeding is mainly related to uncontrolled high blood pressure. For this reason, I recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values and check coagulation tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
