What Causes Numbing And Tingling Feeling In My Right Leg?

I have a numbing and tingling feeling in my right leg. It doesn t keep me up at night, but I wake up in some pain. It gets worse thru the day as I am a hairdresser and stand all day. I am on Coumadin for a DVT in my belly 11 years ago. I also had a non malignant brain tumor in 2005.I am in relatively good health now. I just wanted to see if this warrants a doctor visit. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Numbness and tingling in the leg are very likely due to the nerve that goes down the leg being pinched. This may happen if there is a prolapsed disc in the lower back.

In some cases, neuropathy is the case (due to diabetes or vitamin deficiency).

It is important to have a good check with your doctor to better determine the cause and the proper treatment in your case.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
