What Causes Numbness And Burning Sensation In Left Index Finger?

Hi, I ve had pain in my left index finger for about a month now. It s gradually tuned into extreme nubness and burning/tingling. If i grab somethiung that applies pressure to the inside palm near my thumb there s a shooting paid and tingling through my finger which lasts for several minutes. Does this sound like carpal tunnel? I do not have any pain/swelling in my wrist or finger. thank you

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Is there any history of trauma in past or near future? I will suggest you to consult a primary care physician or neurophysician as it requires a careful detailed neurological examination of face upper and lower limbs to know the exact site of lesion and then to work for its pathology. Also the blood supply needs to be checked in the mentioned limbs. Only then lesion can be defined accurately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Faisal Bacha, Internal Medicine Specialist
