What Causes Numbness And Discolouration Of Finger?

My right index finger became numb and turned purple. It remained that way for about a half hour, I was just about ready to go to the urgent care when the numbness started going away and also returned back to normal color. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hello. I am Dr Praveen. Its definitely abnormal and it is seen in conditions where there is vasospasm of the end arteries of the hand. Its called Raynaud's phenomenon and you need to be investigated further for the same. It would be nice to know your sex and age. Take care. Regards.
