What Causes Numbness And Discomfort In The Throat?
A few months ago my throat felt like I was being softly strangled. About a month ago my throat started to become numb, like I sprayed Chloraseptic in it. I had a bacteria swab which came back normal and my ENT doctor put a camera in my nose and looked at my throat. He didn t see anything that concerned him, yet I did have a lot of mucus. Since then it feels like my throat is almost completely numb and I can t feel hot or cold drinks when I swallow. I do have anxiety and I think about it every time I swallow now. Please help. Thanks
* As per my clinical experience, it sounds to be due to dryness of mucosa of the upper respiratory tract which gives irritation (might be allergy induced or other cause) and the same has been manifested due to underlying anxiety.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
