What Causes Numbness And Pain In Hands And Fingers Of A Diabetic Patient?
I am a diabetic patient with sugar level on an average of 150-180 or 7 and 10. My current problem is both my hands are numb and fingers cannot be bent forward and feels pains in the arms and fingers which cannot be used to do anything What causes that and what med. can alleviate my pains and enable me to use the hands?.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Good control in diabetes is taken with postprandial glucose below 140mg/dl and Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels below 7%. In case it is maintained more than these values, you may experience several microvascular complications associated with diabetes. What you could be experiencing is one of such microvascular complication called 'diabetic neuropathy'. To avoid its progression and to keep it under check, you need to strictly control blood glucose levels and take vitamin capsules containing Vitamin B6, Folic acid and Vitamin B12 along with essential minerals like Zinc and Selenium.
