What Causes Numbness And Pain In Left Shoulder And Arm While Having Disc Disorder?
Hello, I recently went in to see my physician for pain in my left shoulder and arm with numbness. I also was concerned about some wheezing I have been having. well, she told me that it was probably asthma..which I have never had..but anyway, she sent me for an MRI for the pain and they did find out that I have degenerative disc disorder, but no answer for pain and wheezing. Just wondering if I may have lung cancer? what do you think?
Hello, Thank you for asking at HC. I carefully read your question and understand your concern. If you had an MRI that just showed disc problems it is very likely you do not have lung cancer because MRI is very sensitive for lung cancers and would have shown it. if you have disc problems than it can also cause pain and numbness because of the disc compressing on the nerve so it is common to have the symptoms you have while you have disc issues. Asthma is not a diagnosis that can be made with MRI so I would not expect the doctor to say you have asthma or not after having MRI. A spirometry is a good testing for asthma. I hope this answers to your question and is helpful to you
