What Causes Numbness And Pain The Thigh Along With Hip Pain?
I have a compressed nerve in my left lumbar region causing pain in my hip region and numbness in my thigh. The only relief I get is when I bend forward. If I arch my back the pain is worse. I have very little pain when sitting. My primary care physician put me on a prednisone course of therapy. If this does not work, what are my other treatment options? Thanks

What Causes Numbness And Pain The Thigh Along With Hip Pain?
Hello, It could be a neuropathic pain like sciatica or disc prolapse. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
