What Causes Numbness And Radiating Pain From Lower Back To The Legs?

Hi, I was having a tingling/numbness feeling in both legs yesterday. More of an achy dull pain, that just radiates from my lower back, through my thighs. I tried stretching my legs out and sitting or laying in so many positions, I just couldn t get comfortable. Also, I slightly slid my leg across the wood bed frame, nothing too hard, and it hurt very badly and left a large bruise. Not sure if they are related, but occurred in the same evening. Any thoughts on what could be causing the numbness/pain?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness and radiating pain from lower back to the legs . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like nerve root compression due to disc protrusion , muscle stain , sciatica and swelling in joint . cervical spodylosis can also cause such problem . The symptoms can also occur due to migraine . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for it . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses , do light stretching exercise under expert , start physical therapy and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or nerve conduction test . Doctor may prescribe methylcobalamin supplements , B12 supplementation anti inflammatory or recommend accupuncture. Apply warm compresses on shoulder blade .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
