Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

You might be having left Thalamic stroke /Dejerine–Roussy syndrome which has been missed by CT brain. MRI brain would be more useful to detect lacunar stroke responsibly.

Initially, there is usually numbness and/or tingling one half of body followed by dysesthesia.

'Feels like swollen' is likely to be due to decreased sympathetic tone on the right side (Hypothalamus -the higher center of the autonomic nervous system is adjacent to thalamus).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
