Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having difficulty with walking There are a number of things that can cause the symptoms you are having.
1. Neuropathy - this is due to nerve pain. A number of things can cause this such as diabetes,
chemotherapy, or pinched nerves from a
slipped disc in the back.
2. Blood clots - this is less likely, however a DVT (
deep vein thrombosis) can cause numbness and tightness, but it's unlikely that you'd have clots in both legs at the same time).
3.
Peripheral vascular disease - this can cause tiredness in the legs after walking. Usually, this is due to
atherosclerosis causing stenosis in the arterial vessels of the legs,(tightness in the arteries). This will give claudication - pain with walking that is relieved with rest.
I'd start with an ultrasound of both the arteries and the veins in your legs, which are quick and non-invasive studies.
I hope this helpful. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
