What Causes Numbness And Tingling In Arms And Legs Despite Taking Medications?

Been having numbness in my right arm and leg and pretty severe pain between my shoulders when going up a flight of stairs, really out of breath too for just one flight. This started happening a couple of months ago. Had and ECG and the stress test along with looking at my vascular system for the head and neck a week ago and they found nothing. My blood pressure has gone up some and they put me on a low dose of lipitor, but something is still not right. Numbness and tingling is happening now and also my teeth hurt, molars.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Numbness and tingling in the arms and legs may be due to MS (Multiple sclerosis), diabetic neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy, magnesium and calcium deficiency, etc. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are stroke, mini stroke, developing CAD, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, Get a complete medical examination done.

Get Nerve conduction velocity test, blood tests, urinalysis & imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing the symptoms. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime take food rich in minerals, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B6, B12 or supplements. Stay active, take adequate rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
