Hello. I would like to know what it means when you test positive for auto immune disease from a blood test. I have numbness and tingling all over my body, from lips to toes. It sometimes feel like an electrical shock all over. My knees want to buckle. All other blood work is normal. I am a 63 year old male and otherwise, quite healthy. 5 11 and 185 lbs.BP 120/78.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear
Please dont worry as auto immune diseases are not always the cause of the tingling sensation that you are facing.Does the blood tests involve Vit B12?
If not ,please get a vitB12 done as in majority of cases ,its deficiency causes such nerve sensations.I would also advise for a serum calcium and D3,with a RA Factor to rule out any arthritic issue,if not done.
As all other features are normal, please stay calm, concentrate on your diet and rest .
Hope this helps
most welcome for further queries
