What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation From The Feet To The Thighs?

What would cause numbness/tingling that started in the feet and kept going higher, into thighs, then into arms/hands and finally the chin and around the mouth? ER did an MRI, CT scan, spinal tap, blood work, urinalysis which turned up nothing and was discharged...awaiting for records to be sent to the neurologist that was recommended for follow-up. The numbness is increasing and am unstable on feet and have difficulty getting up or down...using a walker but still do not feel steady or comfortable with it.

Hello,

It is due to neuropathy which can be due to: Nerve damage from trauma, lesion anywhere and maybe you have diabetes mellitus.

I suggest you report to an emergency room for a thorough examination to find the probable cause and accordingly it would be treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
