Hi, thanks for using using healthcare magic
The symptoms are in keeping with
peripheral neuropathy, this refers to abnormal function of the nerves outside of the brain and
spinal cord.
It can be due to different causes such as: (1)
vitamin b12 or folate deficiency- blood tests can check these levels
(2)diabetes- should be screened for diabetes if she is not a known diabetic
(3) trauma to the nerves
(4) liver disease
(5) kidney disease
(6)infections such as shingles
(7)side effects of medications- would need to review any medications being used
(8)exposure to toxins
(9)idiopathic- cause not known
(10) hormonal causes or autoimmune disease
A thorough history, examination and blood tests would help to determine the cause.
There are medications that can help eg lyrica, tegretol,
amitriptyline,
gabapentin,
These are some of the medications that are used for neuropathy
I hope this helps
