What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In Cheek?
I am having some numbness and tingling in my left cheek, I had sinus surgery a little over a month ago, he said a little tingling and numbness was normal but it has expended into the jaw line. I don't feel bad but want to know if it could be something more.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain numbness and tingling on cheek is a normal finding after sinus surgery but in case if the tingling and numbness has not got better even after about a month of surgery and even it has progressed to the jaw line it can be a sign of nerve damage.. Damage or injury to the branches of trigeminal nerve can lead to tingling sensation over the affected areas.. I would suggest you to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and in case if there is nerve injury you can be referred to a Neurophysician and get evaluated and an MRI SCAN can be advised for a confirmatoy diagnosis.. The physician can advise you to take Vitamin B complex supplements as they help in faster recovery of nerve damage if it is reversible.. Warm compresses and physiotherapy can also be advised..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
