What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Arm?
I have pain in my upper back muscle, kind of like knotted up muscle. It has been hurting for about a month. It hurts to turn my head, for about the last week, when I turn my head in some ways it causes tingling and numbness in my arms. What can be causing this, and how can I treat it?
Understanding your concern. The numbness and tingling sensation in the arm could be because of many reasons like nerve damage and decrease in blood supply due to injury, disease like multiple sclerosis or carpal tunnel syndrome . Sometimes frequent activity or heavy weight lifting can also cause such symptoms .You should properly stretch your arms before doing such activities. What you can do for now is stop activity which causes this sensation, give rest to your arm ,ice your arm for 10 mins twice daily and you can also take diclofenac . You can also massage gently your arm with flax seed oil daily . If this condition reoccur frequently consult orthopedics surgeon ,who can order elecromyography ,MRI ,blood test and take medical history to find out the exact cause.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
