What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Hands, Feet And Lips?

Hello Dr
I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, and sometimes in my lips. This usually occurs when I'm sleeping and in the am hours, as I go through the day it subsides. However, lately it has been lingering on all day and spreading up my legs. Its accompanied by stiffness and pain in the knuckle and hand joints. I was not worried until now. I know I must find a new Internist as mine closed his office a few years ago.

As per your complain tingling sensation and numbness in hands, feet and lips can be due to causes like Vitamin B12 deficiency, pressure over the spinal nerve, lack of blood supply to certain areas, abnormal levels of calcium, sodium, potassium, side effects of certain medications etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evalauted and a clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests and also MRI Scan will help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

Initially you can be advised vitamin and mineral supplements along with Physiotherapy and hot compresses for relief..
