Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Hands?
My hands are going numb/tingling all the time. I think it might be a pinched nerve in my upper back. I did get a x-Ray done and currently seeing a chiropractor to get relief. I tried massage therapy, but it only comes right back. What is causing this and how do I make it stop?
Tingling and numbness in the hands are due to nerve pinch if they are spread according to a certain dermatome (part of the skin innervated by a certain nerve). If the numbness is not following dermatomes then it is unlikely it is related to nerves. You will need a good visit with a doctor to determine this and make sure which is the case.
Many times tingling and numbness in the hands that is not according to a dermatome might be due to anxiety and stress, especially if they are coming and going.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician

Vitamin B deficiency and peripheral neuropathy might be considered as well.
