Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Left Hand Pinky And Ring Finger?
I hope so, I am currently experiencing numbness and a slight tingling in my last two fingers on my left hand. the systems present itself like the fingers went to sleep or the buzzing tingle like when you bump your elbow. these symptoms have been constant now for about a week.
What you are describing is a problem of the ulnar nerve. This nerve comes from the upper arm, through the elbow, and is the main big nerve that controls the ring finger and little finger.
This problem can come from overuse or injury or pressure on the nerve due to swelling and is typically treated with splinting, rest, anti-inflammatory meds such as ibuprofen (taken after eating).
But I do recommend going in to be examined if there is any doubt about the cause or severity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
