Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness From Shin To Toes When Diagnosed With Sciatica?
I am having numbness from my shin to my toes. I recently was diagnosed with sciatica but began having complete numbness to the foot after bending to tie my shoe. I called my PCP about scheduling an MRI but he wants to do physical therapy first. I cannot dorsiflex my toes or my foot. I am really worried. I am a healthy 32 year old. The numbness is really affecting me. I find that I am forcing myself to walk. What could be wrong and what is my next step?
It is due to compression over nerve. Physiotherapy is recommended. Can take tab Hifenac P. Use hard bed. Take tab Neurobion Forte and avoid abruptly bending and lifting weight. Continue physiotherapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
