Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I rolled/sprained my ankle Saturday. Had xrays done monday, no broken bones. But the swelling and bruising is slowly getting worse. Pain isn t too bad but I am now getting a little bit of numbness in my second toe. Is this something I should worry about or is this normal?
Your symptoms do not seem to be related to the kidney stones. In my opinion, a pinched nerve (tarsal tunnel syndrome) can cause this clinical situation. For this reason, I recommend performing nerve conduction studies. Other tests to consider would be : complete blood count for anemia, blood electrolytes for possible imbalance, vitamin D and vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency and uric acid plasma levels for possible deficiency.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
