General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since she has been diagnosed with ear infection, she should continue to take the medications prescribed to her. Since your wife is developing numbness in the different areas of the body, you are suggested to get her clinically examined by a neurologist.

It looks like developing neuropathy. It can be peripheral neuropathy. If diabetic control her blood glucose levels at all cost to prevent worsening of the symptoms. She should get Nerve conduction tests, nerve biopsy, blood tests & imaging tests (CT / MRI) done at the earliest.

Her treatment will depend on the pathology detected and her clinical condition. In the meantime, she can take vitamin B6, B12, vitamin E rich food or supplements.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
