Hi,

Usually, your body goes numb when your nerves get pinched, or irritated. Or consistent pressure over nerve can take away feeling from a part of your face. That can happen after an injury, or even sleeping in an odd position. As you already have Diabetes II along with Neuropathy it can be one of the cause and depending on the affected nerves, symptoms of diabetic neuropathy can range from pain and numbness and it can commonly affects facial nerves.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Minaz Kagadkoti, General & Family Physician
