What Causes Numbness In Foot, Posterior Ankle Pain And Protruding Veins In Legs?

I have been dealing with numbness in my foot (bottom, and big toe predominantly), posterior ankle pain (intermittently). Have seen 2 Doctors and just not getting answers. Last week I developed a lump in the right posterior knee (popliteal space) and am having minor swelling in the foot and calf. Tried mobic, helped some but seemed to cause other symptoms, and I know its hard on the liver long term. I am a massage therapist (previous trade) and have tried all I know to do. Also the veins in my legs are starting to bulge since this all started more than previously.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Popliteal cyst with or without varicose veins is the most likely diagnosis in your case responsible for nerve compression and vessels engorgement causing numbness in foot, ankle pain and so forth. Kindly get a Doppler ultrasound of the popliteal space and lower limb vessels for final diagnosis and care accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
