A detailed assessment is advised. Both neurological and musculoskeletal.
As mentioned by you, you already have L4-L5
herniated disc, which was slow in recovering. I would suggest you to take an MRI of the
lumbar spine if not taken, to see the
soft tissue status at the lumbar spine.
Also, you need to visit a physical therapist, as by performing proper exercises for the stabilization of the spine, the
nerve impingement can be reduced. On a longer run , you need to keep performing exercises to avoid the reduction in the inter
vertebral space. As this is the long term solution.
In my clinical practice, i have been seeing lumbar disc herniation, a correct approach to physical exercise helps regain the normal functions and also a long term help to my patients.
