What Causes Numbness In Hands Along With Bruised And Discoloured Knuckles?
I am 46 years old and have been very healthy my entire life. Over the past couple of years, I have noticed my hands being numb/asleep when I wake up. I also notice a lot of pain in my knuckles and the feeling that I need to pop my knuckles a lot. In addition, my knuckles look like they are bruised...very dark. i am curious if this is a circulation or carpal tunnel issue? Sometimes when I first wake up, the middle finger on my right hand will not open with the rest of the fingers on that hand. I have the flick it open with my left hand several times before it will begin to move on it s own. It s like it makes a tiny little popping sound or feeling in the knuckle when I do this but once I m awake for several minutes and work with it, it is fine the rest of the day...other than the other issues mentioned above. I ve never encountered this in the past so my question is what could it be??? Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness in hands along with bruised and discoloured knuckles . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like peripheral nerve compression , diabetic nerve damage , multiple sclerosis , neuralgias , peripheral neuropathy and guillain-Barre syndrome . Injury can also cause such symptoms , which occur due to hematoma . The symptoms can also be due to carpal tunnel syndrome , tenderness or tennis elbow . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order x-ray , nerve conduction velocity tests , electromyography or CT scan and rule out conditions like cervical spondolysis . Doctor may also take history and recommend physical therapy and stretching exercises . Doctor may also prescribe orthodox MR , nerve supplement for quick healing and as you to give proper rest to hand .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
