For the last 5 months, I have been experiencing numbness in my hands when I wake up, sometimes including what I can only describe as cramping. My hands look like I m about to make a fist, and I can t straighten them out without holding on to them and slowly straightening my fingers with my other hand. Some days they feel like they are on fire and no amount of moving seems to help. The fingers having this problem almost feel like the joints are being put back in place. There is no popping sound. Often, the numbness lasts all day. (But not the cramping.) This first started when I was raking leaves daily, and I assumed it would go away once I stopped that activity, but it s been months since then and it s still occurring. Not sure if this is something I should be concerned about. I had seen the doctor when it first started, and he also thought it was due to the repetitive movement.
