What Causes Numbness In Index Finger During Sleep?
My index finger middle joint is immobile when I wake up in the morning. I can actually hear it snap if I bend it. Immobility goes away after about 15 minutes. I do not have any pain. I was wondering if this is early RA or if there is something else that could be causing such a phenomenon in a single joint in one finger?
HELLO, i can understand your concern. early morning stiffness which goes off after a few minutes of movements in joints is a sign of osteoarthritis of that joint. inflamed joints due to Rheumatoid arthritis are usually painful following physical activity. are there any nodes(swelling) in the joints involved? does it look different from the other fingers. i would suggest a xray of the index finer ap and lateral views to confirm/rule out presence of inflammation of the joint. kindly take an anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac for a couple of days. hot fomentation would help. passive or active movements at the beginning of the day would reduce the stiffness of the joint. kindly get back to us with the xray. hope i have answered your concerns. feel free to ask further queries. thanks for choosing HCM
