Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness In Leg, Buttocks And Thigh Area?
When my husband woke up he felt like his leg had fallen asleep. The numbness left his lower leg and went to his thigh area. The numbness isn t so bad in his thigh area anymore, but the numbness has moved to his buttocks. He had a stroke last October and now worried that these symtoms could be related to it. What would cause this numbness?
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns. YOur husband had a stroke and now has had numbness on his left leg and buttock upon waking. This is not significant for any prior stroke. These symptoms are usually due to pressure on the nerves in his back or leg. I would recommend that he either see a chiropractor or a licensed massage therapist to help reduce the numbness.
