Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing some numbness in my right leg and right arm and that just began today. I had found a tic on my neck a couple of weeks ago that had not gone deep, but had been on me for a few hours. I was wondering if this numbness might be related to the tic bite and Lyme disease. The numbness is only on my right side though.
Numbness in the arms & legs can be due to insect bite if it has affected the nervous system & also due to Lyme disease. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy), nerve compression, tumor in the cerebral cortex. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a neurologist. Get Nerve conduction velocity test, Electromyography, blood tests & neurological & imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the severity of the pathology detected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
