General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, Thanks for your query. I have read & understood your concern. The numbness in your right thigh seems to be due to entrapment of nerve supplying the thigh. The entrapment can be at hip region/ at spinal level or may be effect of diabetic neuropathy. - You should get investigated for weight gain ( glucose tollarance test / thyroid function test) & get proper treatment with advise of a physician) / control weight gain.. as loss of weight plays a major role in relieving pain - Consultation of an orthopedic specialist for physical examination/ investigations ( X ray/ nerve conduction studies ).. would pin point the site of compression. The management then can be planned according to cause( medication- NSAID drugs/ physical therapy/ to learn different stretching techniques to relieve pain/ adjusting period of rest in between working schedules ) thanks.
