What Causes Numbness In The Arm After An Electric Shock?

Hi, I had an electric shock from the house mains this afternoon, I have a very sore patch at point of entry and severe pains in wrist and arm upto shoulder and tingling and numbness,also general feeling of unwellness is this something to be concerned about

hi sir/mam,as it is a household main,it is mostly AC(alternating current) of low voltage.treatment depends upon the following factors :
1)severity and extent of burns
2)presence of cardiac symptoms of chest pain,shortness of breath,missed beats
3)urine output if low and any blood in urine(indicates rhabdomyolysis and myoglobinuria).

if any of the above are present,you need a consultation and investigations like ECG,urine microscopy etc.
if the wound is small and not that deep,no other symptoms you can observe.minor wound can be healed by topical antibiotics,silver sulfadiazine ointment.if pain and tingling in the affected extremity continue even after 24hrs,you need to go to a physician or neurologist to rule out any nerve injury.for the time being,if the pain and tingling are unbearable,tab.pregabalin 75mg at night is recommended.hope you recover soon without any complications.any further questions,please let me know.its my pleasure to guide you.thank you.take care.bye.
