What Causes Numbness In The Arm While Having Cerebral Palsy?

My husband was recently diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. However, I think they are missing something because CB is not progressive and he is progressing quickly. He does have some symptoms associated with CB, but he also has a sudden loss of brain matter, short term memory loss, left arm numbness, speech delays (sometimes he can t even find the words he is looking for), and sometimes he can t remember how to swallow correctly. His right side shows the brain matter loss and the right side of his beard and hair are turning white. Prior to January 2nd, he was completely normal. If you can think of anything that could possibly be going on, please tell me. PLEASE HELP!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you stated, CP does not progress or change to this extent. Since the symptoms are evolving, it would be best for him to be re-evaluated by a neurologist. You may need to get a second opinion.

Some of the possible causes of these symptoms may be ALS, Huntington's disease, MS, progressive bulbar palsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
