Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Months ago I advise my Primary doc of muscle pain and weakness as well as loss of strength in my grip. Pain in muscles was mostly with pressure applied, i.e. my dog standing on me. She thought maybe it was low Vitamin D. I have since developed arthritic type pain in my left knee. Ortho thought patellofemoral syndrome. This last week I started having pain radiating down my right arm and shooting pain into my wrist and hand. Constant feeling of crampy pain. Today, my left hand also starting with constant crampy with intermittent shooting pain. I get occasional shooting pain into my ankle joints as well. I have noticed a few times when I sleep on my side (either one) I wake up with numbness in my arms. I do have a history of herniated C5-6.
You may also have nerve compression problems which were suspected in your prior consultations which must have aggravated.
However, at what level it varies and needs clinical evaluation, with nerve conduction studies with or without MRI.
It is very common to get such types of numbness and pain in stress and in a deep anxiety state.
However, to be on the safe side, you should consult a doctor and get your cardiac status checked along with other relevant investigations for the causes as mentioned above.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
