Md. Rizvi Zaman Ayyan My child born immature. He was born before two months from the date. When he was born crying and nothing was problem. He is now three years old .He does not walk and speak till now. For this purpose I went to the Doctor paediatric neurologist. They were suggest me to go to a physiotherapist and I do what they suggest me I kept a physiotherapist permanently and some improving. But another problem after two years in my child he is taking and jerking his head in back side. Five or six times in a minute he is taking his head in back side. At that moments he taking his breath inside strongly after then vomiting. He is vomiting when he taking any meal. When he lay down in that time he taking his head in back side his whole body up from the bed except head and leg. And that time his whole body is very hard and vomiting. His leg and waist getting thin. When I go to the doctors(pediatric neurologist) They were given me some test they are E.E.G, M.R.I OF BRAIN WITH CERVICAL SPINE, C.T SCANE but in the test nothing was result. Everything is okay. What should I do now.
One of the possibilities in a young child who has both developmental delay and vomiting can be an inborn error of metabolism (also known as inherited metabolic disease, or neurometabolic disorder). There are many of these diseases which are due to malfunctioning or loss of a chemical in various parts in the body. Often there are other members of the family with the same condition.
The tests you mentioned, like EEG, MRI, and CT scan are not able to identify these conditions. You might consider taking your son to a metabolic clinic at a children's hospital. You are a good mother going down a long road.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Arnold Zedd,
Pediatrician
